Exquisite diamonds set in an astonishing bracelet: a perfect match.
That is exactly what the jury thought when they chose Peter Quijo's design as the winner of the "Beers Diamonds International Award".
Some call it the jeweller's oscars because it is the most prestigious award a jeweller can win.
The "Qui Vive" cut was developped for a brand new collection of jewels.
As with the Qui Shape, each stone is cut from selected rought material, by our master diamond cutter.
The Qui Vive has the shape of a square with right sides and round angels.
The stone has 64 facets and the cut was designed to bring out the deepness of naturally coloured diamonds.
The Qui Shape was created to celebrate 50 years of the Quijo Brand.
Inspired by the famous cobblestones of Bruges, the Qui Shape, with 89 facets, has the shape of a square with curved sides and right angles.
Viewed from the top, it shows a compass, wich refers to the history of Bruges as a merchant town and in the vicinity of the sea.
Each stone is cut from selected rough diamonds by our master cutter and is perfect in finish and in proportions.
Bruges is famous for its long tradition of lace making.
What better way to commemorate this ancient craft by creating a line of lace jewels.
Each jewel is set with a piece of hand made lace in 24 carat pure gold.
Peter Quijo developped a way of making very fine souple yet strong gold wire.
The pieces of lace are made by a real lace-maker who teaches at the famous lace-school of Bruges.
Peter Quijo presents a whole range of conventional jewels for every occasion.
He is particulary proud of his famous articulated necklaces.
After a very complex and difficult making process, the gold necklace proves extremly pleasant to wear because it is a cross-breeding between a rigid necklace and a chain. It is supported by the whole neck and falls always right.
It also can be upgraded with a detacheable pendant, making it a perfect jewel with dual purpose.
The "Qui Moments" watch was inspired by the "Qui Shape Compass" diamond.
It is entirely manufactured in Switzerland, acoording the highest standards used in the watchmaking industry. For that reason it bears the "Swiss Made" mark on its face.
Every watch is almost unique and has a limited edition number engraved on its back.
Due to his various interests, Peter Quijo also creates several lines of jewellry based on a specific theme. This can be sports, hobby or profession.
He, for instance, created a whole collection inspired by the king of sports: Polo.
He also mastered different skills, what enables him to propose highly elaborated trophies for all disciplines and using a wide choice of noble materials.
I have been creating and making jewels all my life. From an early age I have been forming and sculpting, chiseling and setting. I made all kinds of jewels: brooces and bracelets, rings and earrings, pendants and necklaces.
I thought I always made jewels to make people more beautiful.
But then I realised that I make beautiful jewels, to brighten up all the beautiful moments of life.
